"I have been teaching lessons on Live Music Tutor for a few months now and it has been a very positive experience. I have even had the opportunity to give lessons to children in Africa from my home in Florida! The online classroom works well and is easy to use. It includes a place to upload sheet music for your student, a chat box to type messages to your student, and it also records each class. I piloted the Live Music Tutor (LMT) program in 2 school settings this year. One was elementary and the other was middle school. The team at LMT was very understanding about the dynamics of the classroom, and they were very accommodating even when issues arose that made it necessary to cancel sessions. I believe this to be the single greatest reason why LMT should be instituted in more schools throughout the district. The willingness to give a helping hand to teachers who are not as tech savy as they are will help the program implement with fewer hiccups. I also found that the level of instruction offered was perfect for the student experience levels in each class. I had the unique perspective of working with this program across multiple school settings and experience levels. The instructors, Clara and Jared, were fantastic. They worked with me to come up with lesson plans that were both informative and engaging. They worked with the group within the guidelines and expectations that I had previously set up with my class. This made the sessions feel less like different teachers with different goals, and more like a team with the students best interests in mind. Every tutoring session from the masterclasses to the one on one instruction, drastically enhanced the educational value of the orchestra classroom setting. I absolutely look forward to working with the Live Music Tutor team in the future.

ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER

I saw a possible solution to the gap that we had in sufficiently resourcing our music teachers who, in many cases, were ill equipped to tackle the growing string programs. Together we decided that we would strategically target several schools that could benefit from masterclasses with the Live Music Tutor program. We selected schools at each level (elementary, middle and high school) in order to determine effectiveness. In this short pilot, I am seeing that Live Music Tutor can provide a much needed resource when a music teacher is faced with instructing an area that is not within his/her specific area of expertise.

What makes Live Music Tutor an ideal resource for a situation such as ours is that the Live Music Tutor instructors will totally customize a lesson to the needs of the music teacher and students. The LMT instructor works with the school's music teacher ahead of the live streaming to determine what would be most beneficial. Every school and music teacher has different needs and the Live Music Tutor program is able to accommodate that with their wide range of experts and their customized programming. What I am finding is that the music teachers are gaining as much professional development as are the students who are being targeted in the live stream. My music teachers are learning from the Live Music Tutor experts and that professional development will transfer over to their classrooms in between the sessions with LMT instructors. It is a win-win all the way around for our string programs.

The online music tutor program is easy to use and learn on. The program would be of great use to kids that do online school or with no time to go anywhere. You can meet an instructor in seconds and they're very friendly. Even the whole classcan play and be corrected on what they're doing wrong. Be sure to have a decentcamera, mic, and speaker to have a good time. The tutors are professionals they play in orchestra and know how to play multiple instruments which is great.

Teachers in person may help you, but don't have all the time in the world to understand how to tune your instrument, but with Live Music Tutor you can access at home and they give you all the time you need until like 12 AM. The program teachers have given me help to make sure I use long bow strokes on my instrument to help with sound quality, read notes correctly, and count music and so much more! I have learned to correct bad habits while playing that I never knew of until corrected by a Live Music Tutor instructor. While introducing themselves, some Live Music Tutor instructors will play on their own instruments a piece. Their music they play is always very inspiring to me to make me want to do better. The program is very easy to access and I love how helpful it is having more than one teacher that I can meet with to help me.
